Iceland Elopement Session

When we were planning our trip to Iceland with some of our buddies from Alaska, Grace (from this session!) asked me what I thought of her borrowing a wedding dress from a local shop in Alaska and having our friends Quillan and Hannah model for us somewhere! I loved the idea! We have both been wanting to travel to Iceland for a while and thought it would be fun to get to do a shoot out there, and it holds a lot of sentimental meaning to Hannah and Quillan so we thought it would be epic to get to give them some photos out there.
We spent a few days exploring Iceland before meeting up with our Alaskan buddies and we were all pretty flexible on where to do the shoot. One day we were driving out to an epic iceberg lake and we saw these huge formations with a beautiful dirt road driving into them and classic Iceland fog up in the tops of the mountains, so we pulled over and spent the last bit of daylight exploring! It was so much fun, I loved getting to photograph alongside Grace, and to get to capture Hannah and Quillan in a place that means so much to them. Doing this shoot, and the one we did with Grace and Austin at a glacial lagoon, really made us want to shoot more in Iceland in the future! We’re headed back out there in July of next year (COVID-willing) and while most of our time will be spent exploring, and hopefully flying over to Greenland for a few days, we’d be so stoked to shoot an elopement! Especially if someone was stoked on hiking onto one of the glaciers :)
