christina + david's post-wedding adventure portrait session in glacier national park | montana wedding + elopement photographer

We had so much fun with Christina and David’s post-wedding session in Glacier National Park! We ended up scheduling this session with them as part of our trip to Alaska and it was the perfect way to spend our last day in the lower 48 before the giant road trip through Canada! We absolutely love Glacier National Park. The giant, dynamic peaks and the insane amount of waterfalls…plus everything is just so green! We’ve spent a good amount of time in the Logan Pass area, and only been out to many Glacier once, so when Christina suggested doing their adventure wedding portrait session up in the Many Glacier region, we were so stoked! It’s definitely a quieter area of the park and we loved the calm vibe, even in busy season.

Christina and David originally met when they were both working as park rangers in Yosemite National Park. They fell in love with each other in the outdoors and their mutual love for hiking has been a common thread through their entire relationship. According to Christina, “Our favorite thing to do is just fold down the seats in my car, make a bed back there, and just drive and follow light and beauty until we get tired, sleep and start all over again the next day. We literally spend all our weekends like this and normally do between 500-1000 miles a weekend. In two months living in Zion this spring we saw 12 National Parks and 17 State Parks just on our weekends. This is also what we did for our first date in the Eastern Sierras. If we are not doing that, our next favorite thing is to cook together and watch movies. We do lots of that during the week.” Honestly when I read that, it reminded me so much of Callen and I and I knew we would all get along great!

Christina and David had a gorgeous, adventurous wedding weekend in Glacier National Park with their closest friends and family, inviting everyone to join them on various adventures to really soak in the park. One of the more special things about the weekend was the fact that Christina had just been offered her dream job working there, so not only were they showing their family and friends their favorite National Park, but they were introducing everyone to their new home! They chose to meet up with us the day following their wedding for an adventurous wedding portrait session. After a delicious dinner at the Many Glacier Hotel, we walked around the area climbing on rocks and taking in the epic views. It rained off and on, the wind was wild, and it was unusually cold, but these two braved the weather and embraced every bit of it! It was so sweet watching them enjoy the park together, newly married, as they soaked in the gorgeous moody weather.

If you like the idea of eloping, but still want a more traditional wedding, doing an adventure session with us in your wedding clothes might be a good option! We love when we get to do adventurous wedding portraits for our couples, even if they get married elsewhere! This would be such a fun way to plan an epic honeymoon and get more rad photos in your wedding attire.
